Danielle Shockey

Co-Host of Leaders and Legends

Danielle Shockey is the chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Central Indiana. A Girl Scout
alumna, Danielle’s experience serving Indiana’s youth spans a career of 20 years. She served
Hoosier youth through her leadership role as the sole deputy superintendent of public instruction
for the Indiana Department of Education. In that role, she was at the forefront of Indiana K-12
education, supporting the creation of an education system of equity and high-quality for more
than 1 million students.

Danielle’s experience at the Department of Education included leading the vision and operations
of 22 distinctly different divisions such as College and Career Readiness, STEM, Career and
Technical Education, special education, eLearning, federal grants, educator effectiveness, and
school safety.

Danielle also has experience as a college dean, school principal and educator. She has a
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Ball State University and a Master of
Science in Educational Leadership from Indiana University.
